    Position Summary:

    The Field Service Technician will work under the direction of the Field Service Manager to deliver support to our internal and external customers by providing automation, mechanical, and electrical support, troubleshooting, and services. To be successful in the role, the technician must have an understanding of both electrical and mechanical functionality.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 6 months – 5 years’ experience in Field Service Technical Support
      • Control Systems and/or processing systems experience preferred
    • A.A.S. Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, also ex-military technical specialist welcome
    • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and piping instrumentation drawings
    • Proficient using a VHOM meter and oscilloscope
    • Possess mechanical aptitude
    • Travel (40%-60%) to customer sites throughout the U.S. is required, with away-from-home stays of 1 day to 3 weeks
    • Ability to work with PLCs – reading ladder logic, and tuning PID loops
    • Experience in the food, dairy or beverage industry is a definite plus

    Responsibilities:

    • Field Service Problem Solving:
      • Demand Service Work – troubleshoot and repair process, instrumentation and control systems
      • Scheduled Service Work – perform preventative maintenance
    • JCS Project Support:
      • Build electrical panels, checkout and test
      • Install process systems, calibrate, test and checkout
      • Install control systems, calibrate, test and checkout
    • Continuous improvement:
      • PLC training
      • Instrument training
      • Controls training

    Physical Requirements:

    • Light physical effort with frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials up to 40 lbs.
    • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, kneel and reach.
    • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks, constantly using hands and arms.
    • Ability to work above or below shoulder height for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to see and handle small parts and wires of different colors.
