    Position Summary:

    Working for JCS will give you the opportunity to experience a small, family-run business that doesn’t get bogged down in a lot of bureaucracy. Although we have procedures, we can also offer a lot of flexibility. You may experience different types of engineering, based on client needs -- sometimes bouncing between them in a given day. So, if you like variety and the opportunity to learn different pieces of engineering – from mechanical, to applications, to electrical and software, JCS is the place for you.

    Qualifications:

    • Current student, working towards bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
    • Experienced with 3D modeling software, such SolidWorks and with CAD, such as AutoCad.
    • Flexible to work on vastly different tasks, such as switching between working in computer aided design systems (CAD) to calling vendors to get quotes, to assembling control panels.
    • Basic understanding of interfaces between controllers and instrumentation, such as ethernet or current loops.
    • Mechanical aptitude (hands on).
    • Strong initiative, with ability to work independently but know when to ask for help.
    • Good oral and written communication skills, including on the telephone.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Innovative problem solver.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must be a team player.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop 3D skid layouts and 2D floor
    • Specify equipment by evaluating design drawings, customer, performance and budgetary requirements.
    • Prepare cost estimates and delivery estimates.
    • Maintain bill of material documentation through the lifecycle of a project or quotation.
    • Learn to read and update customer piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
    • Participate in the assembly of control panels, as required.
    • Prepare design documentation to share with both internal and external customers.
    • Manage an internal project from start to finish.
