Controls Engineer
Experienced Controls Engineer – Food/Liquid Batch Process
You will need to have completed a four year technical degree (BSME; BSEE; or other directly related degree program) and have a minimum of three years’ automation controls (PLC) experience in a liquid/food, batch processing, manufacturing environment. (Please do not apply without the requisite education and experience).
Candidates should have experience in programming PLC based process control systems including Allen Bradley SLC 500; PLC5; Control Logix; PanelView; and RS View software.
To function successfully in this position the right candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work well with a team, as well as be self-reliant and independent when necessary. The candidate should also be familiar with the elements of manufacturing system project management including: documentation, cost control, methodology, scheduling, and profitability. Frequent travel (up to 50%) to customer sites throughout the U.S. is required, with away-from-home stays of 1 day to 3 weeks.
Objectives
Deliver complete, fully functional process control systems to our “Fortune 500” food processor clients, on time and within budget. Solve process control design problems. Manage multiple projects concurrently. Implement project plans on schedule. Promote and maintain good business relationships with our customers.
Duties and Functions
Design PLC based process control systems. Program PLC’s (Allen-Bradley). Test and debug PLC code. Perform system functional tests. Conduct and supervise on-site installations. Perform I/O checks, dry runs, wet runs, and product runs. Report on and document all activities (progress reports, service call reports, time sheets, expense reports).
